Radio Tuner without an inductor coil

A friend and I are trying to build a radio controlled airplane, but an LCR circuit tuner would be too heavy. Does anybody know of a way to make a tuner without an inductor coil?

Any help would be appreciated.

what frequency?

you may be able to use either a different capacitor-inductor. you may also be able to add an active device with a capacitor to simulate the iductor.
