Does anyone know a good way to learn Latex codes? I heard it was good to know for grad school.

The only real way to learn latex is to use it. You can probably pick up some of the common commands by using the latex here on the forum, but in order to learn how to write documents you will need to take the dive and use it.

On standard reference is hte "not so short guide to latex" which you can find by googling.

Ok thanks. I want to try and learn this year and next year before I head off to grad school, so I have a better understanding.

It's not very difficult to pick up. After a weekend working on a document you should have a pretty good grasp of things, then you just pick up more complicated commands as and when you need them.
