An atom has an energy level 1.8 eV above ground state. When excited, it returns to the ground state and emits a photn. Ccalculate the energy and wavelength of the photon.
help me please
thank you

Well if you ask like this, I think it's like in Homework Help: You would learn nothing from a direct answer.
So here's a hint: How, do you think, has it been found out that the energy level is actually 1.8 eV? [;)]
Planck said that the energy of a photon is directly related to the frequency of the photon. We can express that as E = hf where h means Planck's constant.

ShawnD, Einstein said that
No, Planck said it. That's why they call it "Planck's constant" [t)]

Nope, it was Einstein who came up with the whole "photon" thing in his paper on the photo-eletric effect, which got him the Nobel Price.
For many years, Planck simply didn't buy the idea [:D]

Ding, ding, ding! That's what Einstein won the Noble Prize for.
