View Full Version : Whose fault is this? (sham university)

Is it the students' fault for enrolling to the university? Should the American consulate be blamed for issuing the visas?
And why are the students detained with ankle bracelets? Is this U.S. law?
It doesn't look like all the facts are known yet?
It's a scam. Neither of these articles talk about finding any of the students, but an ankle bracelet allows them to go about their daily life, the other option would be incarceration. Which would you prefer?

I would certainly prefer they be sent back to their respective home countries or at least transferred to another university, but not treated the way they are.
It seems they are being held because they did not meet the requirement of their visas which is that they are to enroll for/attend full time classes on campus. If the university is bogus, where are they supposed to attend classes?
And how does one go about a "daily life" with an anklet?

Just being tracked is worse than jail to you?
Why is this America's fault or burden? Those people needed to do their research. If it sounded to good to be true, well....
Plus, the investigation showed that the people that got fake student visas more than likely knew they were fake. No school, no classes. Ya think??
They came here under false pretenses, so, they'll be deported, no criminal charges, just go back home. How fairer than that can you get?
You are making no sense. Thread closed.
