it says "solve the equation by first clearing the fractions." the equation is "2/5=5/8n-4" i got for my answer "1 1/25" is this correct?

The answer is 25/176, unless you mean 5/(8n-4), in which case it is 33/16

That depends what you mean, either:

\frac{2}{5}=\frac{5}{8n-4}

2(8n-4) = 25

Or:

\frac{2}{5}=\frac{5}{8n} - 4

2 = \frac{25}{8n} - 20

22 = \frac{25}{8n}

176n=25

I just thought you might also mean:

\frac{2}{5}=\frac{5}{8}n-4

\frac{16}{5}=5n-32

\frac{176}{5}=5n
