What Unique Features Make Your College Stand Out?

I believe most(or atleast some!) of you here are students(level may be diff.),
I would love to hear ,what are the special features and facilities (if any!) which makes your college unique and extraordinary.

The fact that we rave over increased enrollment each year while making sure the system to add/drop classes gets stupider and stupider each year while over-enrolling more and more classes each year. If that doesn't qualify as a "special" feature, i don't know what does.

Unfortunately my college is not extraordinary, but it is indeed unique in the way it seems like a fridge. It is filled with only engineering students who are not prone to parties and those sort of things.

We have one too...the problem is that the school had to oust the last DJ for sexual harassment of an employee and they don't have a new one yet.

I have a lot of complaints about my school but there are things I like about it too. http://www3.sdstate.edu/Academics/CollegeOfAgricultureAndBiologicalSciences/HorticultureForestryLandscapeandParks/McCroryGardens/Sights/Index.cfm is an absolutely awesome place that is run by my school. I use the jogging trail there for some cardio exercise as often as possible.

I was stationed at NAS Lemoore...it's about 45 mins from Fresno. The nice thing about CSU Fresno is that the campus is pretty nice. The bad thing about it is that the air quality is among the worst air the world...

I was glad to come home where I can breath again but I miss IN N OUT dearly

[edit] In fact we might have even had some of the same instructors...While I was still in the service I was taking classes part time at a little community college in Lemoore called West Hills CC, I took calculus there with Dr. Ganter who taught at Fresno before moving to a CC. Don't they shoot off rockets from Lemoore? I remember people going insane one day when the exhaust from a rocket from what i think was Lemoore was lit up in the sky. It had been a while so the smoke was scattered about and people thought it was crazy aliens or something :D

And nope, never heard of that instructor.

- Bounty (the Stronger Soaker Upper)


Also did lots of other boring things, including splitting the atom, inventing the computer, standardising screw threads, discovering the neutron, and inventing the Reynold's number.

They don't shoot off rockets from Lemoore, that is a Naval Air station (they just fly jets and stuff like that)...that's the Airforce rockets from,,,I don't remember the base. The first time I saw one I was like, "Are we being nuked?" They are seriously creepy...but they just go up and burn up at an extremely high altitude...

I would say exactly opposite for my college.
gals are too less(32/600) and the ones who are possesses somewhat male characteristics.(like Mauresmo! )

Actually most of peoples here at Pf are unaware of status of IIT,may be you must have had come across to guys preparing for it on Pf..!

Yes, but some rich guy named ?. Mitchell from Houston donated a butt-load of money to Texas A&M's Physics Dept and named the chair after him. Dr. H came to annoint it and install the first sitter and gave several talks to the department. What jacked me out of whack was that in the auditorium when he gave the speech for the "masses" the audience was half full of kids 10 and under. I had a nosebleed seat. That was 3 or 4 years ago.

What is special about my school? Well the graduate students in the physics department don't hang out at all outside of classes... it is very disturbing. I just transferred to Worcester Polytechnic Institute after two years of graduate school at UW-Milwaukee (to follow my advisory like a good little fellow...). At UWM, the grad students would party together , go to lunch together, get coffee together... here nothing. Nobody is ever around in their offices and if they are the doors are closed... very, very weird. I am very disappointed.

Please tell me this isn't special and people actually survive it: We will start on monday with a schedule of 20h lectures + 6h exercices per week in mathematics alone and they are calling it a 'soft start'!

In addition my university has a list of scientific achievements, of which I only can remember that they have set the world record of lowest temperature.
