AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on concerns regarding job prospects in the renewable energy field after acceptance into an overseas program. The individual notes that in central Europe, job opportunities are favorable, particularly for programs emphasizing renewable energies, supported by government funding and initiatives promoting sustainable energy systems. However, there is a cautionary note about the increasing competition, as many professionals from related fields are transitioning into renewable energies, potentially leading to an oversupply of experts in the coming years.

Hello all,

I was recently accepted to a program overseas that offers said degree. I think it sounds great, but I'm more than slightly worried about job prospects in the field. Can anyone offer advice?

I only know the situation in central Europe - here job prospects are quite good especially if a program focuses on renewable energies. There is governmental funding and lots of initiatives to drive the implementation of sustainable energy systems.

One caveat: Because the field is a bite 'hyped' many people from related fields are turning to renewable energies as well. So in a few years the number of experts might exceed the number of jobs.
