Hotplate stirrers


I don't understand what makes them worth $200+. It's a hotplate, it's a magnet attached to a brushless motor. It has a dial for each.

I can't find any diagrams or pictures depicting the inner workings of these mysterious machines. Perhaps someone here can shed some light on why some HPS are tall with what look like heat sink fins and others are very flat. And why they are so pricey.

you can find cheaper ones.

they are just expensive because of the general markup on scientific equipment.
