hello, what happen if cod rod length increase by few hundred microns?
atulmalode said:Thanks Chris for your concern, It all about engine performance that concern me.
My liitle concern about what it will increase the piston thrust.

What is the piston top to cylinder head clearance?
A con rod, short for connecting rod, is a mechanical component in an engine that connects the piston to the crankshaft. It converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into rotational motion of the crankshaft.
Increasing the con rod length can improve engine performance by altering the stroke of the piston. This can lead to higher torque and power output, as well as smoother engine operation.
The length of the con rod affects the stroke of the piston, which in turn affects the compression ratio and the amount of time the valves are open. A longer con rod can result in a longer stroke and a higher compression ratio, which can increase power output and efficiency.
Increasing con rod length can also result in higher stresses on the engine components, as well as potentially affecting the balance and smoothness of the engine. It should only be done after careful consideration and calculations.
The optimal con rod length depends on various factors such as engine design, intended use, and desired performance. It is typically determined through calculations and simulations, taking into account the engine's specifications and intended use.
