There are also several nice beam packages for Mathematica (http://library.wolfram.com/infocente...g/Mechanical/). I particularly like the Beam Statics Package. Definitely learn to calculate them by hand before trying one of these packages, but they can be nice shortcuts after you know what you are doing.
