This thread is for speed related videos, pictures and/or links.

I'll start off with a few:

Rocket sled, 0 to 6000+mph in 6 seconds, the stop is even quicker (test object crashes into barrier. Click on picture to see the video. Acceleration in last stage peaks at 157g's, more than the 100g's of the Sprint interceptor missle.

pic of rocket sled at 4800 feet / second:

Rocket drag bike. Note that hydrogen peroxide rockets are single fuel rockets, and use silver as a catalyst.

Don Vesco 470mph at Bonneville, click on either link near bottom of web page. This was the fastest wheel driven vehicle at the time:

Anyone here got a copy of the supersonic speed run by the Thrust SST from England? They made a PAL VHS tape, but I live in the USA, no PAL players here.

Try - http://www.thrustssc.com/thrustssc/Videos/Videos.html
Well it's not much. It's too far and video is fixed., so Thrust passes quickly through the field of view. Links to the cockpit and tail camera are apparently invalid, or I can't download the large files.

I think some modern VCR's can play PAL as well as US formats, or one can get the PAL format converted.

What 180+mph looks like on a Hayabusa speed run, the camera mount broke, so it's a short video:

An oldie, but my favorite downhill ski video, lots of camera angles, chase, onboard, ...

Found it, but quality is low:

Cool picture showing the shockwave:

There seems to be a problem with the avi file. I get through a few MB and it ends both in Real Media and Apple QT.

thrust1.avi is bad
Sorry aboutthat. It's fixed now. For some weird reason, my FTP uploader program or my web hosting will have a problem uploading a file, but renaming the suffix (like from .AVI to .BIN) cures the problem. Then I just rename it back after uploading.

Link is the same as before:

Here's one more of motorcycle, a turbo busa doing a 235mph "flyby" (trap speed):

Jeff, can you fix the supersonic flyby video? I wanted Tsu to see it but it never has worked since the first day or so.

Btw, awesome videos!
