A compound has the empirical formula CNH4. If 0.2 mol of its molecules has the mass 12.0 g, what is the molecular formula?

0.2 mol = 12.0g
From here, you can calculate 1 mol=60g. Then, 60 = (12+14+4)n, where 12+14+4 are the molar mass of CNH4. Then, you obtain the value of n. Times the value of n into CNH4, you would obtain its molecular formula. |
