## Kicking a ball

When kicking a ball, how much of the force you apply goes to making it spin if you kick it off-centre? Is there a formula relating the angle of the kick and the amount of torque or something? We have to analyse a sport for our homework and I chose soccer. I'm trying to work out approximate rotational angular momentum of a ball.

If you were kicking it off center, what equations do you think might apply? How would your kicking force at the point of contact resolve itself into propelling the ball and spinning the ball?
