Would you be Emperor of the World?

My favorite physics professor once asked this before class. If you could, would you want to be emperor of the world? If so, what is the single most important thing that you would do?

no, because quite simply having that much power and that style of job does not interest me.

But i would not mind being able to have a decent say in the doings of such a government - whilst still participating in the everyday aspects of life that bring much more happyness than absolute power.

If i did want to become emporer of ze world, i can't say there would be a single most important things i would do. There would be many, and even as emporer of the world it would be impossible - but you still have to try. The first thing i would do is help the people with things they need.

Well, unless you're a long lived rabbit, exhaustion for one. However, I am thinking more of how to deal with 10,000 angry women? Based on statements made thus far, you guys would be in really, really deep doo doo. Even to be Emperor of the world would provide no safety from 10,000 women scorned.

Well hey, we're going on the premise that what what the emperor says is law, so they're not allowed to get jealous or bitter or spiteful=)

Better yet, just make it 10,000 virgins so that they are young enough not to know that there's any other way but servicing me;)

No, I wouldn't. For a long time I have realized that holding power over others is just not something that interests or excites me. If I had no choice in the matter and were charged with such a duty, I'd consider it a great and terrible burden that would likely destroy me.

I do not wish to rule, or to be ruled, actually.
