Water pressure in a tank
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
A water pipe feeds a water tower with water. The tower is 15 metres tall. If the water is to flow into the tank what is the minimum pressure of water at the bottom of the tower? Assume litre of water = 1 kg Assume 1 BAR = 1kg cm-2 2. Relevant equations P = p g h ? 3. The attempt at a solution am i using the correct equation...? |

sooooooooo...
1000 * 9.81 * 15 = 147150 or 1.45 atmopspheres?

It doesn't matter if you use pascals or atmospheres. And the formula is correct.

Apparently You had to count in air pressure (10^5 pascals) since it can still exert pressure on the bottom.....Is it correct with that added?
