How can we find the determinant of a complex matrix?

Do you know how to find the determinant of a real matrix? The determinant equation is the same whether the matrix is real or complex.

Yes sir i know how to find the determinant of a real matrix. we can find either by Laplace expansion or by properties of determinant. Sir my teacher told me that the determinant of a complex matrix is not evaluated in the same way as the determinant of a real one. Can you please explain with detail.
 
The definition and calculation of a determinent with complex numbers is exactly the same as with real numbers- using complex number multiplication and addition, of course.
