SUMMARY

The discussion centers on calculating the time between waves based on frequency and period concepts in physics. A user poses a problem involving 180 waves occurring over 1 hour, leading to the calculation of wave frequency as 0.05 waves per second. Consequently, the time between each wave is determined to be 20 seconds. This straightforward application of the formulas for frequency and period illustrates the fundamental principles of wave mechanics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic physics concepts such as frequency and period
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations
  • Familiarity with unit conversions, particularly between hours and seconds
  • Knowledge of wave mechanics and their properties
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the relationship between frequency and period in wave mechanics
  • Learn about unit conversions, specifically converting hours to seconds
  • Explore practical applications of wave calculations in real-world scenarios
  • Investigate advanced topics in wave physics, such as wave interference and superposition
USEFUL FOR

High school students studying physics, educators looking for teaching resources, and anyone interested in understanding wave mechanics and their calculations.

Plz give me some help like i know like frequency = cycles/seconds and period=seconds/cycles but how do i answer a snwer like

If 180 waves wash up on a shore in 1.00 h. what is the time between waves, in seconds? lol help me guys .. my dad always said i have to try hard to get the education i want and everything and that out in the world there are like a million ppl just like me but smarter .. so prove it ;)

QED! :-)

180/3600=.05 .05 waves a second. 1 wave is done in every 1/.05=20 seconds

cheers mate. and love to see other enthusiast like meself. (unlike the people at my school.)
