Some Businesses are not accepting application from the unemployed


As if the unemployment situation isn't bad enough.

Companies are more frequently putting caveats in their job postings that 'unemployed need not apply'. In an article today from CNN Money, a Vice-President of the Adecco Group reported that in 75% of the conversations he has had on the subject, companies or hiring bodies are confirming this requirement is being used in job listings and hiring practices.

Wow, so they can legally do this but there was uproar when some woman said she wanted / didn't want a christian lodger (previous thread)?

There are a lot of excellent people that were laid off. Become "self-employed" and say that you believe that your talents would be most beneficial to a dynamic, forward thinking company.

The logic is sound even if it seems unfair.

3 out of 4 conversations = 75% of conversations. Sure. Sigh.
