Why does observation coincide with experimental empirical data?

Discussion Overview

The discussion explores the relationship between observation and experimental empirical data, questioning the nature of reality and the role of the observer in interpreting data. It touches on philosophical implications and the intersection of human perception with scientific observation.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Conceptual clarification, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant questions why observed reality appears consistent within a given context, suggesting a possible isomorphism in behavior among different entities.
  • Another participant asserts that observation and experimental empirical data are fundamentally the same, implying that data is a direct result of observation.
  • A subsequent post challenges the notion of observation by asking about the existence of objects when not observed, specifically referencing the moon and the implications of an observer's presence.
  • A quote from Capra is introduced, suggesting that discussions about nature inherently involve discussions about human perception and consciousness.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express differing views on the nature of observation and its implications for reality. There is no clear consensus on the role of the observer or the relationship between observation and existence.

Contextual Notes

The discussion includes philosophical questions about the nature of reality and the observer effect, which may depend on varying interpretations of observation and existence.

Is there a reason why our observed reality is actualized and isormorphically the same within a set context?

After all humans behave like humans and dogs like dogs and things like there like.

Observation coincides with experimental empirical data because experimental empirical data IS observation!

So what is the observer, that interprets a given set of laws? Are you saying then that without its presence there is no data? So is the moon there when you do not look at it, or is it sufficient that if it looks upon itself, its still there?
