SUMMARY

Sound travels away from its source, adhering to the principles of wave propagation. This phenomenon is consistent with Sommerfeld radiation conditions, which describe how waves behave in open space. When sound waves encounter reflective surfaces, they can reflect back towards the source, creating echoes. This principle applies similarly to light, which also radiates outward from its origin.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of wave propagation principles
  • Familiarity with Sommerfeld radiation conditions
  • Basic knowledge of sound and light behavior
  • Concept of reflection in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the principles of wave propagation in physics
  • Explore Sommerfeld radiation conditions in detail
  • Study the behavior of sound waves in different mediums
  • Investigate the physics of reflection and its applications
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, acoustics researchers, and anyone interested in the fundamental properties of sound and light waves.

In principle, they travel away from the source (we call them Sommerfeld radiation conditions),but if waves meeet a reflective surface, they can come back to the source. If u put a mirror near an electric bolt...?
