wind turbine

I am attempting to size a wind turbine generator where the torque available is 8,000 Nm's. Can anyone save me doing the calculations? Regards AV8TUR.

Welcome to PF!

It isn't clear to me what you are trying to do. You haven't provided enough information to "size" anything and what you have provided doesn't seem relevant.

Are you needing to know which size turbine blade or which size generator/motor?

Hi MachX, I am looking for the generator size that 8,000Nm torque can handle. Also if possible, the start and continous rated torque requirement for a 500Kw, 1Mw & 1.5Mw wind generator.

For a 1.5 MW generator rotating at the same speed as the turbine, it's around 6m diameter.
You have nice pictures at Enercon's website.
