Get Published: Steps for Undergrads w/ Math Discovery
I have discovered something in mathematics (related to graph theory) that seems interesting and as far as I know (some google searches + asking around on IRC) it may be original. What steps do I take now? As an undergrad I have access to professors. So I figure I would approach a professor I...- 0rthodontist

You could have Googled it first. http://www.skinheadnation.co.uk/sharpskinheads.htm I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm sorry to have offended you. Under what circumstances would you feel a public neo-nazi demonstration is permissible?- 0rthodontist

News Are Free Speech Zones Undermining True Freedom of Expression?
We're talking about forcing a few elderly people with anti-war signs to move a quarter mile away from a Bush gathering. What would the costs have been if those people were permitted to stay? They might have gotten a bit of media attention. That's it. The only danger is that they might have...- 0rthodontist

News Are Free Speech Zones Undermining True Freedom of Expression?
I would argue it's not quite a false dichotomy because I'm not saying it's either/or, just that Evo's statements have lead me to believe she only would like free speech to happen in private. It is certainly possible that there are public circumstances where Evo would not wish a peacable...- 0rthodontist

Though this is just a small point, not all skinheads are racist. There are also SHARP skinheads (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice). Second, you seem genuinely opposed to free speech. You appear to have no problem with people saying what they want, so long as they do it in private. If...- 0rthodontist

News Are Free Speech Zones Undermining True Freedom of Expression?
Why not make a national free speech zone inside a desert in Utah, reserved for all views that disagree with governmental policy? No press access, of course. But if you want to hear a few dissenting views, all you have to do is go to Utah, so it's perfectly fair. I'm sure that's what the...- 0rthodontist

He did try that a lot. The reps either couldn't do or refused to do the units arithmetic, telling him that his kb usage x .002 cents/kb is "72" when they do it on their calculator, and insisting it's 72 "dollars" when he asked for the units.- 0rthodontist

Learn Big O Notation and Fibonacci Sequences | CS Assignment Help
Okay, now let an be the number of calls to fibonacci() when the input is n. Can you express an in terms of an-1 and an-2? Maybe you don't know how to solve that yet, but you can at least say that your fibonacci is O(an) time once you've recursively defined an.- 0rthodontist

Just incredible. Though I think the supervisor was being deliberately dense after a while. I mean, he can't agree to bill the guy 72 cents (at least not without a legal battle) and he can't deviate from the quotes that he and all his employees have been giving out, so he just sticks to the...- 0rthodontist

Learn Big O Notation and Fibonacci Sequences | CS Assignment Help
First, the point of O notation is to simplify complicated expressions like (n-2)^2. If a function is O((n-2)^2), it is also O(n^2) and it's better to write it that way (though you aren't correct anyway). A simple idea of O notation is that if f(n) = O(g(n)), then you can shrink f(n) by some...- 0rthodontist
