Need help with a photo booth I'm working on for a party
Hi all, I'm helpnig my wife put together a party for our son. She wanted to do a photobooth idea and tasked me with doing it. I need help with the set up though: I'd like to have people go into the photobooth and trigger the camera (either digital camera or USB) and flash using a wired...- Aaron William

Question about Kepco Power Supply with Error Sensing
Hi, here are a few newb questions about error sensing - I have a Kepco BOP 20-10M that I have connected to a solar cell. The purpose is to sweep voltage across the cell and create I-V curves. Attached is a screenshot from the manual showing the setup for my application - using error sensing...- Aaron William

What is this electrical component CR ?
Thanks guys, I was hesitant to open up the equipment but I did so anyway to see what they meant. There is a OMRON G7L-1A-T in there that is switched by a 24 VPC source. So I think the controlling computer uses it to switch between the different tests. Thanks for all of your answers!- Aaron William

What is this electrical component CR ?
Try googling "CR" and you'd understand my frustration ;p I'm not sure if Cell Relay would be appropriate - the voltage is an analog signal, although the circuit that controls the relay is probably digital. I did see in wikipedia that diodes are sometimes denoted by CR. My thinking now is...- Aaron William

What is this electrical component CR ?
What is this electrical component "CR"? Hey folks, Can anyone give me a hint to what the CR symbol in this wiring diagram might mean? I'm thinking it is some kind of switch... The equipment is a solar cell tester. Basically it traces I-V curves. In the attached picture the pins...- Aaron William

Magnetic Shielding for Motor Control Center
The 100 mGau is above background. Also it is alternating at (I guess) 60 Hz. It is the alternating part that has people concerned that it is a health hazard. Or if it is the solenoid relays I guess it would be direct. I don't know enough about this thing. But health hazard aside... It is...- Aaron William

Magnetic Shielding for Motor Control Center
Hey guys and gals, I'm not an electrical-anything so please forgive my lay-person speak. I work in a lab. One of our rooms has a high magnetic field. It is causing interference with some analytical and computer equipment. Of course there is some health concern as well... Half of this...- Aaron William

High School Physics problem.Only logic,no formulas.
Say the dish is metal - would the thermal contraction create a rougher surface and more nucleation sites? Grasping at straws here.- Aaron William

Graduate Are there theories in physics that suggest matter is an illusion?
Matter (physics) - that which occupies space and has a rest mass No arguments with that. I think OP's initial inquiry was about whether or not the smallest particles actually occupies a volume of space or if it, as Dave put it, is a "diaphanous" shell of energy. Diaphanous - my new word of...- Aaron William

Dilute HF/Nitric Neutralization MYSTERY
I checked with my local treatment center to see if I can send some fluorides (as CaF) there way and they didn't think it'd be a problem. I'm sure CaF passes right through the treatment process but, in this amount, it certainly won't cause them to bust their emission limit. If the solution...- Aaron William

Dilute HF/Nitric Neutralization MYSTERY
My mate and I are neutralizing (what we think is) a 2.5 gallon carboy of 10% HNO3 and 1% HF solution. Reason: We want to pour this stuff down the drain and be done with it. We use calcium hydroxide because we didn't want to create any sodium fluoride (nasty stuff that it is) from using soda...- Aaron William
