    Representing functions as power series

    When calculating to find the first 5 coefficients, i get everything wrong except for the first one which = 6.

    Representing functions as power series

    Honestly, i don't understand how to solve this problem at all. I spent at least 3 hours in this problem, that i don't know what I'm doing.

    Representing functions as power series

    \frac{6}{1+49x^2} = \frac{6}{1-(-49x^2)} = \displaystyle \sum_{n=0}^\infty 6(-1)^n (49x^2)^n = \displaystyle \sum_{n=0}^\infty 6(-1)^n 49x^{2n}

    Representing functions as power series

    Homework Statement I have this function f(x) = \frac{6}{1+49x^2}, and i suppose to represent this function as a power series \displaystyle f(x) = \sum_{n=0}^\infty c_n x^n. Then i need to find the first few coefficients in the power series. Homework EquationsThe Attempt at a Solution After...

    Radius of Divergence: Find R & Interval of Convergence

    So, when one point is convergent we use the closed interval, and open if it diverges?

    Radius of Divergence: Find R & Interval of Convergence

    Yes, the answer is correct but i just noticed that i enter the interval in the wrong notations. It supposed to be (-17/4,-15/4]. I just don't understand why one interval is open, and the other one is closed.

    Radius of Divergence: Find R & Interval of Convergence

    Homework Statement I have this problem to consider the power series, \sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{(-4)^{n}}{\sqrt{n}}(x+4)^{n} So, i need to find the R and interval of convergence. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution This is what i did: \lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}...
