Graduate Time dilation and length contraction

Thankyou ghwellsjr, but that doesn't quite answer my question, it's no so much the solutions that I have a problem finding, but the symmetry between the two phenomena that I can't quite get my head around!

Graduate Time dilation and length contraction

I've recently been thinking more about special relativity, and while I understand the Lorentz factor and how to apply it to find correct solutions, I'm still stuck on the link between the effects of length contraction and time dilation, are they permutation of the same thing from different...

Thankyou! Makes sense, a bit of a silly question really..

Graduate Quantum tunnelling and black holes

Just a quick question, that I'm not completely clear about; Quantum tunnelling allows particles to overcome barriers that they classically shouldn't be able to overcome, my question is simply, do/can particles escape a black hole after passing the event horizon due to tunnelling? If not, why...

Undergrad Can Light Travel Into the Future While We Explore Time Travel?

Theoretically, yes, although, as explained, this is simply impossible.

Okay! thankyou, you've helped me a lot!

Graduate Reflection, at a quantum level?

Okay, that makes a lot of sense, although, i need to spend yet more time reading it again and again! What field is this? Would it fall under QED?

Graduate Reflection, at a quantum level?

My understanding of an eddy current, is that it is simply a current induced by a change in a magnetic field? is that correct? If so, how does this change come about, and by what process, does the current, convert to energy, in the form of photons, of EM waves, if it's more simple?

Undergrad Can Light Travel Into the Future While We Explore Time Travel?

I too, am quite new to physics, but i believe i have a rough answer to your question, I think, you're missing a small point, which is that, we don't so much, travel to the future, but instead, our time, relative to those not moving slows down, what this means, is that someone close to the speed...

Graduate Reflection, at a quantum level?

Wow! Thanks! Could take me a while to digest all of that, reading it once or twice might help too! Thanks a lot though, that is VERY helpful.

Graduate Reflection, at a quantum level?

is it not possible to sum it up? Include maths if it helps, I'm comfortable up to A-level further maths.

Graduate Reflection, at a quantum level?

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, and to physics really, so i apologize in advance for silly mistakes. Bascially, I am a keen A-level student, and i spend much of my spare time reading and trying to learn physics, far above me, it would be fair to say, I've jumped in at the deep end...
