Graduate Average energy vs Energy of average
Hey Simon, Thanks for replying. During the run I average the geometiers, what I mean by energy of energy of average structure is just the energy of average geometry. I'm wondering why there is a difference between <U> and the latter, and whether we can estimate the difference.- aihaike

Graduate Average energy vs Energy of average
Hey, When performing Molecular dynamic or Monte Carlo simulation (in NPT or NVT ensemble), I'm wondering whether there is any difference between the average energy of the system and the energy of the average structure. If there is a difference, how munch should it be? and why? Does the the...- aihaike

Graduate Velocity Distribution function of molecule at low temperature
Dear all, In classical molecular dynamics simulation initial velocities are generated using the so called Maxwell distribution. At low temperature it's no longer effective, so I'm wandering whether there is a similar way to generate velocities at low temperature taking into account quantum...- aihaike

Undergrad Random number from a unknown distribution
Dear all, I apologize if it is the wrong place, I don't know where I had to post this question since I'm not a mathematician. Well, suppose you have a set of numbers which can be describe by a unknown distribution. I just like to know whether we can use those numbers to generate a set...- aihaike

LaTeX Can LaTeX be Used to Draw on Floats?
Dear all, I'd just like to know if it's possible to add let's say line on float with Latex. I use textpos package to add text but what about drawing? Thanks, Éric.- aihaike

ok, that's better. But again, this is for the whole system, including all the stuff a computer may run. What about the card itself?- aihaike

GPU on Dell n Series? Confirm or Not?
I have one more question. I've read somewhere that the GTX580 requires at least 750W, which is a lot. So I'm wondering if it is because the power supply also aliments the other part of the computer. A regular machine usually uses like 300W I believe. Anyway, what would be the power need by a...- aihaike
