Two sets have the same cardinaility if there exists a 1-1 correspondence between them. The function f(x) = 2x establishes such a 1-1 correspondence between the rationals in [0,1] and [0,2]. It also establishes a 1-1 correspondence between the reals in [0,1] and [0,2].
