Infinite monkey's writing shakespeare possible?
I think that Sven Tingblad's answer above is the most accurate so far. However, if there are an infinite number of monkeys then you would not need an infinite amount of time. In fact you would only need the amount of time it takes for one monkey to type the complete works of Shakespeare. Now...- Albert's your uncle

High School Waves of any sort do not transfer mass
Nenad, In theory if you have a cork bobbing up and down in some waves it stays in the same place at the same time in each wave cycle. That is, at the top of the wave it will always be at the same place, and at the bottom of the wave it will always be at the same place, but these are not...- Albert's your uncle

High School Why do we lose balance in a bike when at a standstill?
Just seen this post and it reminded me of an experiment where a bicycle was pushed down a slope without a rider (so no moving the handlebars to regain balance). Once the bicycle was pushed to a slow running speed, it was let go to run down the hill on its own. It accelerated at first due to the...- Albert's your uncle

Undergrad Particles traveling faster than light
Mean-Hippy, you are right in saying that to get something to speed up from < c you would need infinite energy for anything with mass. It is also true that anything without mass (i.e a photon) cannot travel faster than c. However, what if the particle was already traveling at > c? The maths is...- Albert's your uncle
