Hi everyone,
I hope you can help me with this as I am having a problem sorting all this out.
I have been told that Gravity and acceration are the same thing. It was explained to me by thinking about droping a ball in a lift (that was is space so no gravity) and the ball would act as if it...

So - sorry to get this. :-)
There is no direct force - say a force between 2 masses. Just a curve in space time that is created by the masses. All other objects (mass) will follow a streight line - along the curve. This being governed by the size of the mass - the more mass the more curve...
Another dumb question, sorry.
I am trying to get my head around if there is some force (Gravity) that acts like an elastic band, pulling everything towards everything else – the more mass a thing has the stronger the elastic band.
Or is it

I would just like to offer, again, my thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share their expertise with me. I am one of the people who try and learn "stuff" in later life that they weren't taught at school and folk like you are a real help to my understanding,

Explaining E=M C^2 to 14 year olds ?
Hi,
I have been asked to give a "very" brief talk to to some 14 year old kids on the subject E=M C^2. I can write this all down using formula and it makes sense. But to "say" what this means at the right level, I am having BIG problems. I can only talk...
Thank you all for your very good answers. I only wish I could fully understand it all. I will take some time and read up on all the answers and try and understand a little better.
