That is reagent grade HCl, most likely. I do my chemistry at home, so mine is the hardware grade variety.

Not sure if anyone still cares about this, but for some reason my phenol red always seemed to indicate a basic pH even in 10M hydrochloric acid. It may have something to do with dissolved chlorine, but phenol red isn't going to work in that case.
