Undergrad Is the universe finite or infinite?
the big bang does not prove that there is no boundary to the universe. the expansion of space isn't the physical expansion of acquiring more territory that we experience here on earth. the big bang occurred everywhere at once. and there can be an infinity. if you follow these two patterns you...- andrewmh

Does Matter's Mass Determine Space's Curvature?
ill use the classic bed example. mass bends space imagine space being a bed mattress. put something with a lot of mass on it, a bowling ball, and put something with less mass on the other side, a golf ball. think of the bed being space and you just bent it :) put the golf ball close enough and...- andrewmh

High School What is the actual colour of the Sun?
to be blunt about it, we have a green sun. forget the whole "its absorbing these colors and rejecting this one" topic. if you were able to see the sun from a farther distance with nothing to distort our view of the sun, our eyes would see green. the "white" portion of it has more to do with its...- andrewmh

Graduate What Happens to Sound Waves Near Black Holes?
exactly. sound waves need to "travel" through gas, like said above, in our case air to quote the movie Aliens "in space, no one can hear you scream"- andrewmh

Undergrad What Do Hamiltonians and Hamilton's Equations Tell Us About Dimensions?
and for the less educated people like myself, this makes sense using string theory lol http://www.tenthdimension.com/medialinks.php i understand that string theory is, as stated above, an "untested proposal" but when people start talking about "dimensions" i find that this video is an easy way out- andrewmh

Undergrad Is it possible to create a completely sealed room where a door can't be opened?
this sounds like a suicide project clearly, higher temp = more pressure but don't try raising temp to seal a door. like stated earlier, poor ventilation will have the biggest effect by creating a vacuum in your room. youd need to pair this with an extremely windy day lol if its truly 100%...- andrewmh

Graduate Calculating speed of spacetime
its still not a clear question. are you referring to centrifugal force and how it could bend lights speed and direction? someone please correct me if I am wrong because i hardly know anything about the topics in this forum but... you got it backwards. it wouldn't be a moving observer if you...- andrewmh
