Interesting comments, I guess I forgot to mention, I a retired engineer, so mat-lab is not the way to go. I have been a manager the last 20 years of my career so I have been out of the loop on modern languages. It looks like fortran is still an acceptable language, using something like dot.net...- AuleMar

I have written many engineering simulations in Fortran, I have also used C and C++ to control embedded controllers, and even some windows graphic programs.
