Undergrad About satellites, velocity, gravitation
A satellite is in a particular orbit. Too put it in a higher orbit(greater distance from earth), we increase its velocity. I suppose this statement is correct. But when we fire an object from earth, its velocity is lesser for greater distances from earth. Can anyone please simplify this... -

Graduate Why Does Iron Mark the Limit for Energy-Producing Fusion in Stars?
The buildup of heavier elements in the nuclear fusion processes in stars is limited to elements below iron, since the fusion of iron would subtract energy rather than provide it The fusion of two nuclei lighter than iron generally releases energy while the fusion of nuclei heavier than...- ay2k

Why Does the Acceleration of Free Fall Differ at the Equator?
So if the question would have asked for the absolute value for the value for accelaration...then it would have been simply value for gravitational accelaration?? this is the only bug in this thing left. Kindly answer this last one as well...- ay2k

Why Does the Acceleration of Free Fall Differ at the Equator?
Isnt it like net accelaration of free fall= accelaration due to gravitational force + centripetel accelaration ? What I am confused about is that both centripetel force and garvitational forces are directed towards the center...then how com we subtract them when both act in the same...- ay2k

Frequency Modulation: Amplitude, Max/Min Freq, Change Rate
A sinusodial carrier wave has amplitude 12 volts and frequency 600 kHz. The frequency of the carrier wave changes by 25 kHz per volt. The carrier wave is to be used for the transmission of a signal of frequency 3 kHz and amplitude 2 volts. For the frequency modulated carrier wave, state...- ay2k

Undergrad Microscopic potential energy of a gas
that link was helpful...but one last thing... you say internal energy increases as a whole...does that mean Ek should also increase causing temp to rise as well?
