Grad School Struggles: Dealing with Anxiety and Uncertainty
Fair enough on the difficulty part. There is a very fine line between difficulty and things sucking, but from my experience they go hand in hand. Your life is obviously different, and have had different experiences. I know for certain that I don't know a damn thing. All I'm saying is that if...- bamahabir

Grad School Struggles: Dealing with Anxiety and Uncertainty
Didn't mean to offend, but oh well. So mood swings and terrible time focusing/ being motivated doesn't make your life suck, what do they do? Just sounds like your making excuses. If you need time to get your stuff together then go for it. If your not happy with where your at then make changes...- bamahabir

Other Becoming an Engineer: Considerations and Personal Experiences
I don't know if I want to be an engineer. I'm 22 and just really starting college but even that is iffy due to financial constraints and very special circumstances I'm in. So trying to figure out a way to get over that hill. In the meantime I think I've found what I like to do best. Build...- bamahabir

Grad School Struggles: Dealing with Anxiety and Uncertainty
Listen bud, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat considering your situation vs mine. No matter how bad you think your life is, I can guarantee there some other guy that is worse off. With that said we all need time every now and then to take a breather from the stresses of life. Take...- bamahabir

I'm 37 years old. Can I still get into astrophysics?
Go for it. It happens all the time from what I've read... Traditional study is overrated, if your able to do it and you want to, then do it.- bamahabir

Programs Getting two PhD in SAME subfield
I could understand getting another PhD if it was in another field, but the same exact thing?? Waste of time. Also don't be a slave to the rankings, you don't need to go to MIT or Caltech to be a great physicist. Focus on your own research, and things that actually interest you.- bamahabir

Should I Drop Out of School to Pursue My Passion for Science?
What would you do right now if given the opportunity to do any of your possible listed scenarios? Only you can figure out what's best for you, if it feels right then great, if not then you know its not. Are you planning to go to grad school? Whose going to be paying off those loans? You...- bamahabir

Should I Drop Out of School to Pursue My Passion for Science?
If you only have a year left why not finish and use your degree to get a decent job? Majoring in philosophy, you would have to think of the overall job outlook related to that field. Just think about that before you major in it lol True life is short to not do what you want, but don't be...- bamahabir

Physics How to begin path towards physics career
I'll echo the sentiments of everyone else, just focus on doing the best you can in all your courses. Take the most difficult courses available to you and take lots of science and math classes. Don't put too much stake in what you think you'll want to be doing for the rest of your life at 14...- bamahabir

Is IQ a static measurement throughout a person's life?
I don't believe in equality, I believe in hard work. If the guy is willing to put in the time and work to understand something that is supremely complex, who are you to tell him he can't do it because he isn't intelligent enough?- bamahabir

Is IQ a static measurement throughout a person's life?
Feynman is quite correct I believe, what it takes is time and interest. I'll use myself as an example, in high school a lot of things were thrown my way and to be honest I could care less about learning it. It was pretty much ace the class by whatever means necessary, not learn the material and...- bamahabir
