Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
This is a good point. I also think about room pressure, possibly door should be open during operation. If you have any more suggestion, please let me know.- bdcrown007

Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
@Travis_King, sorry I missed the point. This one is open type wind tunnel. The tunnel is only 2m long. The exit is open and 1m away from brick wall of Lab. Room air is sucked by tunnel fan and air is escaped to room again at exit.- bdcrown007

Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
@Travis_King, I want to produce flow separation over bottom plate by applying suction on porous top wall. I used two cross flow fan at the middle position of top porous wall with same angle [20deg] but no such separation over bottom plate. Even I remove the top porous wall but there is no...- bdcrown007

Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
@boneh3ad, Yes, I understand. I am thinking some efficient meaning of suction through upper wall to make adverse pressure gradient.- bdcrown007

Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
At first I tried with punching metal sheet which have holes of 2mm dia, as no separation have been detected using tufts, then I use metallic wire screen, but no such achievement. Then I used two cross flow fan that are placed almost middle of diffuser top wall with same angle...- bdcrown007

Flow separation in diffuser section of wind tunnel
For my research purpose, I made a wind tunnel which has 0.6m rectangular section [0.2X0.2sq. meter] and 1.4m long diffuser section having porous top [top wall angle is 20deg] as follows: Wind tunnel speed is 15m/s. Even using 20deg inclination of porous top wall, there is no flow...- bdcrown007

Effect of suction flow rate over flow separation
thanks. But it was my supervisor decision to use bottom plate as test section, how can I deny? In http://www.scribd.com/doc/52161988/apostolis-20mek-fm-ep-2010-07>>> the author discuss about BL suction. Although such suction is not at top wall. It is through bottom wall. "The quantity of...- bdcrown007

Effect of suction flow rate over flow separation
thank you, I have the 7th edition so little bit difference :( I found the idea from Canepa, E., Lengani, D., Satta, F., Spano, E., Ubaldi, M., Zunino, P., “Boundary Layer Separation on a Flat Plate with Adverse pressure Gradients Using Vortex Generators”, ASME Paper n° GT-2006-90809, 2006.- bdcrown007

Effect of suction flow rate over flow separation
thanks a lot for detail explanation. Now I am at my room, tomorrow I will give you the paper from which I got the idea. Which edition of BL theory book do you have? I am using 7th edition and found 1st eqn at ch. 14 but didn't find the second one? Would you please mention the title of chapter 11?- bdcrown007

Effect of suction flow rate over flow separation
Thank you boneh3ad . Actually we are trying to separate flow over flat plate and then we will test our own designed vortex generator to check how can it control flow separation. As we planned to use bottom plate as test section, so giving an angle isn't possible. I read some research paper, in...- bdcrown007

Dear RandomGuy88, thanks for your reply. I thought so, but my professor suggest to do something based on theory so that we can compare...What should I do?- bdcrown007

Effect of suction flow rate over flow separation
Dear all, Take my best wishes. I am facing a problem designing my experimental setup for my research. I want to produce flow separation over a flat plate. Here is my experimental setup: Diffuser angle is 16deg. I need some documentation/text book regarding the effect of suction flow rate...- bdcrown007
