High School Convert y=x^2-1 & y=1-x^2 to Polar Functions?
Can y=x^2-1 or y=1-x^2 be converted to polar functions? I was attempting it and kept running into problems. If it's not possible, why not?- Bendelson

Undergrad Can the Integral of an Area Equation Solve for Volume?
I just looked up the surface area of a sphere and its 4(pi)r^2 so I'm betting that's where the 4 came from but now I may be more confused -
Undergrad Can the Integral of an Area Equation Solve for Volume?
I may have misinterpreted this but today in calculus (AB) we were forming solids from 2 dimensional equations. One of the methods involved taking an integral of an area equation to solve for a solids volume. I got very excited as I often have difficulty remembering volume equations but am... -
Undergrad Object collisions: momentum and force
That's a kinematic equation for a single object, I don't think that was what I was looking for -
Undergrad Object collisions: momentum and force
2 semi-related questions: 1)If momentum is conserved in a system of 2 objects colliding and we are aware of their masses and initial velocities, let's say object 1 is moving at a certain velocity towards object 2 at rest, is there any way to solve for their final velocities without knowing one... -

Graduate What Factors Influence Radiation Production from Cosmic Ray Particles?
I've heard of the muons and electrons that constantly hit Earth's surface in cosmic rays coming from extra terrestrial particles that break up in Earth's atmosphere but I was curious what factors played a role in the type of radiation produced from these particles in the atmosphere (i.e. More...- Bendelson

Undergrad Von Braun rotating space station
So I've been thinking about the Von Braun rotating space station model lately and I was curious about a few things. First, if someone dropped a ball in one (the ship is spinning so the centripetal force is equal to the persons weight on Earth so it creates an artificial acceleration of gravity... -
Undergrad Massless photons? Is everything light?
Are photons massless? They have energy and can be affected by gravity, so don't they have mass? I've heard plenty of people say that photons are massless, does this just mean that they have negligible mass? Also, if only light/photons can move at the speed of light, then wouldn't everything be...- Bendelson

Color Difference between Left and Right Eyes?
I experience the same thing in certain lighting although my left eye usually views a redder tint while my right has a bluer tint. Very strange- Bendelson

High School Opposing forces and Newton's third law
*the sum of all the forces in a full system are zero. If the sum of forces on every object was zero, nothing would move because everything would be in equilibrium- Bendelson

High School Opposing forces and Newton's third law
Both forces in a force pair described in Newton's third law exist but are not both acting on the same object, otherwise objects would all be in equilibrium. The force of tension on an object from a rope has a force of an equal magnitude on the other end of the rope. A good example of force...- Bendelson
