Electromagnet: How to build the right one?

Why not make multiple magnets and spread evenly around where a patient would be treated. This lower the impact of an un-even field. Maybe I'm wrong, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

    Homebuilt electric car Battery conundrum.

I've seen some really poor cells on ebay. They're mass produced from China and break easily. I'd advise to steer clear. I think you should build a prototype model and scale up from that.

Why are wires made of many thin threads?

It allows you to split a cable into multiple feeds. It won't break easily compared to a solid piece. More flexible to move around when fitting. Easily repaired. (And probably somehow cheaper for the manufacturer.)

What kind of engine would you use for this project

Why get an land rover engine and rebuild it like new? I have built performance engines myself a few times now, and spent 5 years in the army. Your either going to make a hybrid... have you the budget? Didn't think so. Or get a used land rover engine or something similar and rebuild it for...

Sweedish woman has the fastest residential internet in the world?

No expert on networking here, but do ISP's not throttle our internet connections? I know they say up to 50mb/s etc but in reality you never get that, and even if you were in the data center they wouldn't allow you to pass their internet connection speed anyway, otherwise we'd all be abusing them!?

How do you backup your ipod music?

All you need is itunes on your laptop. Back up you music files on portable HD etc. Now just plug in the ipod, select what you want on it, and the pc will switch your taste in music around!

Euro 2012: Who's Cheering For Whom?

I stayed up all night to catch the game was terrible disappointed in the players. The referee wasn't exactly on our side either, but the defence was just cringe worthy to watch... I expected a lot more seeing as we never get into competitions like the euros.

News Is Overpopulation an Important Issue? Examining Solutions

Unless we adopt a Chinese attitude there is no way to legally or ethically control the entire worlds population. Tried reading through these 12 pages here, but I think the topicn has gone slightly array.

Make a part from and existing part

I don't know of any books, but this is how most body kits are replicated. Any good body work technician can do this. Carbon fibre weave is mighty expensive though! And there is no flex, but you will damage the original bumper, you will most probably use screws to bond the wood etc to the...

    Flywheel generators in vehicles.

I was just going to butt in and say it can act as a perfect hybrid. My main concern with hybrids is their value. If you look at how much money they save, versus how much you pay for them, you'll see you need almost 30 years for a return. At the moment only eco-enthusiasts buy them.

Make a part from and existing part

You need to make a cast from fiber glass, then build a wooden structure around the cast. You then have a mold which you can wrap the carbon fibre weave around, and use over and over again :)
