Chaining pressure vessels and outlet temperature
I failed to mention that the steam mass flow is 1.4 kg/h and in each pressure vessel there would be a pressure drop of about 1.5 bars. The thing is i would like to find out the temperature drop in the last pressure vessel. what are the linear equations- bionic6manuel

Chaining pressure vessels and outlet temperature
Say I have a boiler with, pressure = 86 bars temperature = 573.15 K overall heat transfer = 96 w/m2K And there will be a pipe connecting the boiler to a pressure vessel pipe length = 0.05m pipe overall heat transfer = 0.146 w/m2K The pressure vessel, volume = 231cm3 pressure = 85...- bionic6manuel

Graduate How much steam is needed to open a relief valve using the ideal gas law?
thank you for your answer i thought that i should use steam tables. this is the way i thought of using the table. say the specific volume is 0.123m3 at a unamed Temp and Pressure and my container has a volume of 0.006m3. 0.123/0.006=? does the answer mean that the container will be filled up at...- bionic6manuel

Graduate How much steam is needed to open a relief valve using the ideal gas law?
I am trying to solve a problem but I am not sure if I am going about it the right way. I am using the ideal gas law to find out the amount of steam it will take to open a relief valve. Using the law I have calculated the amount of steam that will be in a volume but I am not sure if that is also...- bionic6manuel

Undergrad Vacuum Insulation: Calculating Amount for 1 Bar
I would like to know if there is a formula or a way to determine the amount of insulation a vacuum of 1 bar can produce. please note I am not talking about vacuum insulated panels.- bionic6manuel

Two pressure vessels connected by a pipe
Say I have two pressure vessels with the same pressure rating connected by a pipe when the first vessel reaches its pressure release state it starts filling the next pressure vessel what will happen when the two vessels have reached the same pressure release state. A. Will the second pressure...- bionic6manuel

Undergrad Calculating the Size of a Pressure Vessel for 9 bar/130.5 psi
To DaveC426913 you are right about what you said about me. But you did not answer the question i put forward it is easy to say what you did "Seriously, bionic6manuel, you've got an awesome combination for disaster here: steam, pressure and lack of knowledge/experience". Lack of...- bionic6manuel

Undergrad Calculating the Size of a Pressure Vessel for 9 bar/130.5 psi
So what else should i put into the epoxy to make it strong enough. Does the thickness of the walls play a role, say i have a wall with a thickness of 5 cm What i would like to make is a closed chamber "closed system" with a heating element and a heat sensor when ever the chamber gets to 173...- bionic6manuel

Undergrad Calculating the Size of a Pressure Vessel for 9 bar/130.5 psi
xxChrisxx I have no idea about hoop and axial, but this is what i would like to achieve. I would like to make a cube out of epoxy say 16 cubic cm and in the center I would like to put a spherical pressure chamber with a radius of about 5 cm. The pressure would be 9 bars and heat inside the...- bionic6manuel

Undergrad Calculating the Size of a Pressure Vessel for 9 bar/130.5 psi
I would like to make a pressure vessel with a pressure of about 9 bars/130.5 psi, that contains about 250 grams of water at about 175 degrees Celsius. My question is how big should the pressure vessel be.- bionic6manuel

High School Is it watt per second or watt per hour
Say I have a device (Thermoelectric generator) that "generates power" at 4 watts, as per watt meter reading, is it producing 4 watts a second or 4 watts an hour. I say it is producing 4 watts a second but my brother in law says 4 watts an hour so the watt meter can tell the future. Please bear...- bionic6manuel
