Time problem, I am having too much trouble trying to solve ?
Okay after sleepinng on it I see what it is I did wrong. I was supposed to divide 91/29 to get 3.137...rounded gives me 3.14 so then I divide the 5/3.14=1.6 and that's my answer. I solved it but I am still confused. I was assuming that 29s was my speed. It is actually my time? what is it...- bmack

High School Energy Conversion: Is There Such a Thing as 'Lost' Energy?
 No there isn't... that was the question on the study sheet I assumed this mean that it was never really lost it was just converted into a different type of energy. In my textbook it says that energy can not be destroyed but can be converted??- bmack

Time problem, I am having too much trouble trying to solve ?
In 1977 Steve Weldon ate 91m of spaghetti in 29s. At the same speed how long would it take Mr. Weldon to eat 5m? Okay, I believe they are asking for the time...so the formula would be Time= d/V so what I did was divide the 5m by 29 and that does not make sense do I have to convert the...- bmack

High School Energy Conversion: Is There Such a Thing as 'Lost' Energy?
I got this question on a study sheet however, I am not sure if I understand, I thought that there was no such thing as a lost of energy because it can not be destroyed. However it can convert into a different type of enery. Please help me get a clue.- bmack

How Long Does Light Take to Travel from the Sun to Earth?
duh!I can't believe it! 0.5 exponet 3 is 500 I see that I do have a problem with the math more than anything because I am trying to convert the 500 into minutes but I am still lost. I know . Okay 500/60 is 8.3 right because there are 60s in a minute:rolleyes: I can't believe It took me...- bmack

How Long Does Light Take to Travel from the Sun to Earth?
I know what the formula is however, when I apply it I do not get the same answer that is in the book the The answer is 500s=8.3min is inthe answer key at the back pf my book... Okay so I need to handle exponents separate. okay, I am getting 50exponent3 because when you divide exponents you...- bmack

How Long Does Light Take to Travel from the Sun to Earth?
The speed of light is 3.0 x 10 exponent8 m/s. How Many minutes does it take for light to reach the Earth from the sun. Which is 1.5 x 10 exponent11 m away? I know the formula is t=d/v so ?=1.5 x 10 exponent11 m /3.0 x 10 exponent8 m/s The answer is 500s=8.3min...I just don't know how...- bmack
