Hobbyist Electronic Bench Ground Setup: Best Way
Bootleg grounds are common in old houses and it's how 3 wire dryers were grounded. The danger is that if the neutral or receptacle is damaged whatever is grounded will be energized. Bootleg grounds are illegal via the NEC but are common to find. I've been shocked by them so I am adamant that...- Boolean Boogey

Hobbyist Electronic Bench Ground Setup: Best Way
As someone that does electrical work for a living I do not advise using water pipes as a ground. There are reasons I don't like it but I will not go into them. I much prefer using the ground that is available in the walls. Just, whatever you do DO NOT use a bootleg ground. Too many dummies like...- Boolean Boogey

Degree Decisions: Maximizing Mathematics and Earning Potential
Ask yourself this: What can you see yourself doing 8 hours a day, everyday, for 40 years? I didn't have an answer to that question until I spent a decade working in various fields.- Boolean Boogey

What has happened to gender separation?
I cannot help but wonder what it matters how women dress. If you're not dating what is the concern with how strangers dress themselves? Such a strange and frivolous thing to worry about.- Boolean Boogey

Nitpicking is also a great way to learn. It's a shame people are so sensitive and unable to debate for fun these days, always so quick to take offense.- Boolean Boogey

Today I Learned
Today I learned some numbers are vampires. 125460 = 204 × 615 = 246 × 510 13078260 = 1620 × 8073 = 1863 × 7020 = 2070 × 6318 16758243290880 = 1982736 × 8452080 = 2123856 × 7890480 = 2751840 × 6089832 = 2817360 × 5948208 24959017348650 = 2947050 × 8469153 = 2949705 × 8461530 = 4125870 × 6049395...- Boolean Boogey

Actually, to take things literally you have to say he is capturing a snapshot of one narrow section of the PF forum, not the forum itself. Also I am well aware of dishonest data manipulation which is why I am so nit picky. I consider poorly defined or poorly collected data to be pointless.- Boolean Boogey
