What is the difference between how digital information encoded into a hard drive and how information is coded into DNA? It just seems strange to me how you are able to encode information/data into a physical object.

When you load a game from a disc into an Xbox 360, example being Call of Duty, what is the information on the disc classified as? Is it just a different form of application software like Google Chrome or are you just loading a bunch of game files from the disc?

So digital information is classified as a non-physical object? And does a hard drive then almost lose mass when you put a program on it then?

Is digital information that travels across the internet massless? If we were to take out the cables(and maybe the electrons)from the equation, is the digital information taking up physical space?

Because they are massless, could you theoretically fit an infinite number of Photons into a small space? There is probably an equation that proves this wrong but I'm curious.

What about a shadow, or digital information?

Are there any other things/objects in our universe that are massless other than Gluons and Photons? I guess energy is massless, but it's not so much a thing, more-so a property.

Can something be made up of energy? Or is energy ONLY just a property of objects?

In what way does it store these bits? I'm trying to imagine what it would look like to store electrical information.

Are computer files the only way a computer stores data/digital information?

So because all of these point like elementary particles don't have dimensions, does this also mean that they have no volume as well?

What about Gluons?(the other massless particle) do they have dimensions?

Are photons(when described as a particle) considered objects? You can't see them on an individual level, but they hit you and interact with gravity. Might be a silly question, but was just debating it with a friend.

What(if anything) is sound made of?

Does computer software/the internet/information in general have any mass? Or is it just pure energy?
