Beam depth or column size factor in loading
It really depends on how much dead load needs to be supported, and what/how live loads would affect the structure. For example, if you were testing concrete columns with a fixed width/cross-section, taller columns will likely buckle, and shorter columns will likely develop spalding under too...- brhmechanic

The future of the automotive industry and transport in the us?
I could maybe see high speed freight transportation as a successor to long distance highway travel, sort of like a high speed boat ferry... but without the boat and the water. But for small distances, is it really practical for high-speed above-ground traffic with the possibility of pedestrians...- brhmechanic

Why would fuel cells be good for the economy?

High School What Does Δy/Δx Represent in Basic Differentiation?
On the graph of a function, such as y=x^2, if you want to find the average slope between two points, you basically choose 2 points and use the basic slope formula to find the secant line. Well, if those 2 points are an infinitely small distance from each other, it forms a tangent line, which is...- brhmechanic

Truss Analysis: Finding Forces in Marked Members - Homework Problem
If you are still having trouble, try to solve node G using these: G[y]=0= -20 + EG[y] and G[x]=0= -20 + FG + EG[x]. Then it should be easy enough to start working your way down.- brhmechanic
