Actually I knew about this, raw eggs are MUCH harder to keep spinning at a high rate.- CaptainBarbosa

Graduate Discover the Mysterious Behavior of Fluid in Polygon Shaped Vortices | Phys.org
http://www.physorg.com/news66924222.html%22 Why does the fluid act like this? I'm truly stumped... I would read the published results paper, but I can't pay for it.- CaptainBarbosa

Graduate Calculating focal length for aspherical lenses
Thanks for that. Anybody know an answer to my aspherical lens question? [Edit] Here's the results of a test I did with my lens that I made just eyeballing the curve...- CaptainBarbosa

Undergrad Possible to modify a magnet to be more beamlike
Not that I know of. Magnetic field loops need to have a path from the south to the north pole, although if the field loops were mind-numbingly huge it might seem to act like you want...- CaptainBarbosa

Graduate Calculating focal length for aspherical lenses
How is it done? I've done a little research on Wikipedia and found the lensmaker's equation, but one of the values needed to compute focal length is the radius of the lens curvature. Strictly speaking, an aspherical curvature wouldn't have a set radius, would it? The reason I'm asking is because...- CaptainBarbosa

Stargate SG1 Questions - Get Answers Here!
I love Stargate, so much that I even made a 3D computer model of the gate.:D The reason I think they went to one set of symbols for the TV series is to avoid having to discover the local coordinates for Earth on EVERY single planet they go to.- CaptainBarbosa

Didn't receive Confirmation E-mail
Hello, I had this exact problem trying to register. Fortunately I have a 2nd e-mail address and that one worked. The user name I was trying to register is the same as my current one but it had a space (i.e. Captain Barbosa.) My ISP is Wideopenwest.- CaptainBarbosa
