    Electromagnetism and magnetic stuff

So basically, those two circles drawn around the magnet could be in either direction, as long as they are in different directions relative to each other. If the top one was going around ← this way then the bottom one would be going around →this way. But it would be OK if the top one was drawn...

    Electromagnetism and magnetic stuff

Thanks for your answers, they were very understandable! :) You mentioned they are always going from North pole to South pole; however, above they go in a complete circle around the magnet. Doesn't this mean that they go from North pole to South pole in half a circle and then from South pole to...

    Electromagnetism and magnetic stuff

Homework Statement Currently I am taking a course that teaches half the material and let's you figure out/ guess the other half. I have been pretty good at succeeding in this so far, but this one has me stumped. It is on my practice test. What in the world does this diagram mean?Homework...

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

Woops typo, I meant 0.033333... Is that better?

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

Thanks for all the help guys, I think I figured it out and 0.33333 is the proper answer. Am I right on this one?

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

This is what my course said, does that change anything?

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

So are you saying I messed up with my numbers? Or the power (P = I V) is the correct solution.

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

Sorry, I am solving for current in the primary coil (Ip). I didn't know which equation was correct, because both could be used and they didn't come up with the same answer. I have already found that Vs = 40 volts.

What is the correct equation to solve this power and voltage problem?

    Homework Statement A 4.0 Watt toy motor is connected to a secondary circuit of a transformer with 60 loops and a current of 0.10 A. The primary voltage is 120 V Homework Equations Vp / Vs = Ip / Is Ip = Pp / Vp[/B]The Attempt at a Solution 1. [/B]Vp / Vs = Ip / Is 120 V / 40...

    Problems with electromagnetic fields

This is how they taught me, does it mean anything to you about if mine is ok or not?

    Magnetic poles and field problems

Thanks guys, I think I will submit it like this. Yes, I'm sure this is correct. It's really a pain. I am doing Functions with them as well and my Dad, who had been a calculus teacher for the past 20 years, said they teach Functions in a very strange way too.

    Problems with electromagnetic fields

Thanks. So what you are saying is that my circles aren't quite symmetrical, which they should probably be?

    Magnetic poles and field problems

What do you mean by 'the lines of flux'. Or which lines on the diagram are they? This is what my online textbook did as an example. Did I do it right and they are just teaching it strangely?
