Discovering Charles Bukowski's "Alone With Everybody"
Well, if the post was inspired by translating poetry i’ll throw one out. The poem is “Desmayarse, Atreverse, Estar Furioso” by the Spanish playwright/poet Lope de Vega. It’s not my favorite although it’s up there, but I found it translates extremely well. Here it is in spanish for those who...- chente12

American students not capable of attending college
All of the below info is just my opinion. Well let me use a couple of analogies. As much as we like to think of ourselves as advanced, we are no different than the animals that surround us. In a pack, the Alpha Male is usually the head of the pack. There will be those few select members, who...- chente12

Is Best Buy's Pricing Strategy Driving Customers Away?
Basically every profitable company does this. Just like those Macbook Pro’s. You buy one for over 1k and in under 6 months a new better model has come out. Worst of all, what can you really do? You already know that a new model will come out 6 months from now, but then a newer model will...- chente12

Reflecting on 2011 and Looking Ahead to 2012: A Personal Perspective
Well first of all, let me say that seeing “2012” as “Post Dates” on the forum still seems a little weird to me. Now, are any of you going to miss 2011? I personally know that 2011 was the worst year academically of my entire life. This is no exaggeration either, it was literally horrible. It...- chente12

Troubleshooting Vertical Margin Issues in MS Word
I’m sorry that’s the only way i can think of (format, document, margins) to fix it, without looking at your document through your computer. When I open the document you attached on my computer, it shows a document with margins that are off, but it has margins nonetheless. Maybe someone can...- chente12

Troubleshooting Vertical Margin Issues in MS Word
Well, the thing is that there’s a “gutter” on the side margins, so even though you think you’re getting 1/2” margin, you’re actually getting a 1” margin. The top and bottom is already a 1/2” margin, but the sides aren’t. So set the “gutter” to zero, and you should be able to get 1/2” blanks on...- chente12

Introduction to Optics (by Fowler) any good?
Hello, I have recently been looking into purchasing this book. I know it’s only ten dollars, but money is money, and if some of you pleasant people have any experience with this book I’d appreciate any feedback (of the book). Thank you and have a Merry X-mas. :-p- chente12

Troubleshooting Vertical Margin Issues in MS Word
If I understand your problem correctly you have to go to format, document, then set the top, bottom, left, and right to the space you like. Below those there should be an options called “header and footer” and “gutter”. Set those equal to zero and it’ll let you write from top to bottom, left to...- chente12

News Is North Korea's idolization of its leader truly beneficial for its citizens?
Throw some i pods, wifi, starcraft, PS3, and Xbox across the DMZ and you’ve distracted enough N. Koreans to take over the country. I think one of two things can happen. Either N. Korea goes ballistic and does something utterly idiotic to flex their “muscles” or the new leader is too immature...- chente12

The best physics magazines and the best physics books?
Hello, first off, thank you for viewing my thread. My main concern is in how difficult the topic of Optics is going to be. I took Physics B in high school, and Optics was very easy for me there, but I think it’ll be wise to assume the 2nd year Optics course in college will be much more...- chente12

Taking Calculus and Linear Algebra in the same semester
I agree that you should not have any problems as long as you study adequately, and by this i mean study as you would normally for each class. I took Vector Calculus which is a continuation of Calculus w/ Analytic Geometry and Linear Algebra concurrently and found that it wasn’t too bad. The...- chente12
