Graduate Can Warp Drives Really Make Faster-Than-Light Travel Possible?
It does not violate GR but it can be used to violate causality by making a round trip using two different bubbles. The paper I linked in post #5 here and in the other thread explains this in detail.- cuberoot

Graduate Can Warp Drives Really Make Faster-Than-Light Travel Possible?
Yes, Alcubierre drives certainly do seem to allow causality violations and potential paradoxes. I posted about this in the other recent thread: https://www.physicsforums.com/showpost.php?p=4315097&postcount=38 Link to the paper that explains it...- cuberoot

Graduate Travel 10x the Speed of Light: Warp Drive Explained
I think I found the answer to my question in the paper "Warp drive and causality" by "Allen E. Everett": http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1996PhRvD..53.7365E (http://exvacuo.free.fr/div/Sciences/Dossiers/Time/A%20E%20Everett%20-%20Warp%20drive%20and%20causality%20-%20prd950914.pdf) So, it seems...- cuberoot

Graduate Travel 10x the Speed of Light: Warp Drive Explained
So, let's say I am on Earth and I have a ship going away from Earth at a significant fraction of c. What happens if I try to send the lottery numbers to it using the miniature warp drive and have it send them back to me as soon as it receives them, again using a miniature warp drive? Is it not...- cuberoot
