High School Need help understanding negative pressure
so i understand possitive pressure eg 14.7psi is about twice atmospheric pressure so if you were to fill a 1L bottle with air to 14.7psi it would have 2L of air in it. question is if you were to have a 1L bottle and suck air out of it until it read -14.7 psi how much air would be in the...- deathlucky

High School How to work out vacuum in in.hg
im just wondering to work out vacuum in in.hg say if i have 3 1 letter bottles they have vacuums of 10 in.hg 20 in.hg 30 in.hg how much air will be in the bottles cheers- deathlucky

High School How much does air expand with heat
I was thinking for making a custom intake box and cutting a hole in the bonnet for a scoop so. air will get scooped in while driving along at normal temp then straight into the engine.- deathlucky

High School How much does air expand with heat
Well I put a temp sensor in the intake just after the filter and it reads an average of 53C and maxed out at 62C. Outside temp was about 26C. So a 20C drop does not seem like that much of an effort.- deathlucky

High School How much does air expand with heat
Thanks so much for the warm welcome. The reason I want to know is because I'm thinking of building a cold intake system for my car and trying to work out if the effort is worth it. Ok this is going to be a bit of rough math. So (273+40)/(273+20) = 1.0689 so 6.89% increase. 1 bar =...- deathlucky

High School How much does air expand with heat
So I'm just wondering how much air expands with heat eg if you have 1000cc of air at 20C how many cc's will it be at say 40C is there a formula to work this out? Another question if you compressed 2000cc of air into a 1000cc bottle what would the pressure be? my guess would be 2 bar 29psi is...- deathlucky
