H-Bridge - diodes (or rather the lack of)

Hi Dave, Yes, for the H772 its here: http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/pdf/334919/HUASHAN/H772.html For H882 this one: http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/pdf/334922/HUASHAN/H882.html Careful to click the link where it says this: Part No. H882 Download H882 Click to view All...

H-Bridge - diodes (or rather the lack of)

Hi dave They are H772 and H882 - bog standard npn and pnp basically. Yes I was quite surprised too because i understood that without diodes they were guaranteed to fail.

H-Bridge - diodes (or rather the lack of)

G'day all! I've got an H-bridge here from an old motorised toy.. as I want to use it for something else and the RF receiver is no use to me for this project i figured i' strip the H and stripboard it. I noticed though that there are no diodes to protect the four transistors (yes they are...

Battery backup to a battery supply.

So by that do you mean like this?: Just out of interest, in a car do all the switches spark internally then?

Battery backup to a battery supply.

Actually that's a very good idea now you've explained it that way. I like it. I apologise for being abrupt towards you previously, I didn't think you understood the issue. Clearly you had a better understanding than I realized and you were one step ahead of me. Please accept my sincere...

Battery backup to a battery supply.

Car batteries. Before you say anything, I'm aware that they're not perfect but they're all I have access to and will have to do.

Battery backup to a battery supply.

Erm, the whole idea of this is that I don't need to turn off the device. I simply connect one battery before disconnecting the other. If I use a double light switch to disconnect each battery, what would be the point of turning them both off and powering down the device? No offence but you...

Battery backup to a battery supply.

Unfortunately not. It's a cctv camera with inbuilt processor and OS etc. It needs to remain powered up at all times hence the question, I think I'll just go with a double light switch setup so I can switch the new battery on and then the old one off to take it away for a recharge..

Battery backup to a battery supply.

0.6V right? Should be ok. Is there a better way?

Battery backup to a battery supply.

Hi all, I hope you're all well :) I am shortly going to be fitting a battery operated device outdoors. Due to the power consumption, I will get 2.5 days out of each battery (max - if I'm lucky). What I would like to do is be able to connect another battery to it before disconnecting the...

Is it possible to use an iPhone as a wifi host for another network?

Sounds to me like your laptop settings are at fault. You need to change these when you use different hotspots. You can get network profile software that will store and change these for you automatically but you need to get your TCP / IP settings correct first as it sounds like your laptop is...

Current provided / forced or drawn?

So it is really the resistance / impedance of the device that determines how much current will flow through / be drawn then. Ok, that clears that up nicely! Thank you very much :)

Current provided / forced or drawn?

Hi milesyoung, I must be having a blonde day or something because I'm still seeing conflicting information regarding this online. For instance on this site: http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/dccircuits/dcp_1.html Now clearly if I connect + to - on a battery its going to overload and...

TV Licence Inspectors: How Can They Tell What You're Watching?

I find the TV boring these days. Sure we have many more channels but on freeview a lot of the stuff is just repeated every week. I can't count how many times I've seen Transformers this year. National treasure is another that keeps getting repeated. As emi_guy says a lot of it is full of adverts...

TV Licence Inspectors: How Can They Tell What You're Watching?

Most are actually just salesmen on commission. I had one turn up a few years ago who was rather disappointed to find we were correctly licenced. They used to recruit routinely around here too. Since broadband has become commonplace and there are TV signals and BB connections all over the place...
