    Physics Love physics: study engineering

What I dream of doing is real world proyects involving the frontiers of physics we currently have. Like the projects I mentioned and many more. The problem is that I don’t know if mechanical engineering is the best pathway to do this or is there a better one?

    Physics Love physics: study engineering

yes definitely! I am already at university but I was thinking about switching majors or staying. I am currently studying mechanical engineering at 3rd year. I like physics a lot and I also like inventing and doing awesome projects as I mentioned earlier. The thing is that I’m not sure what to...

    Physics Love physics: study engineering

I love physics, I’m literarily fascinated and passionate about it. Although I would like to focus on applying physics on real world projects (more than on research or discovery). Like making a better combustion system on rockets, helping build the fusion reactors they’re trying to make, using...

Physics Is a physics career's main focus Discovery and not Invention?

Is the main focus of the physics career discovery, leading invention for the engineers? I mean in the hypothetical situation of the building of a rocket, would the physicist spend their time discovering new ways of making combustion or discovering new materials for a spaceship, and the...

    Engineering Mechanical or electrical?

The second ones you said but with the electromagnetic force

    Engineering Mechanical or electrical?

I would like that option but the university I’m allready enrolled doesn’t have that option. Which of the two would you advice me?

    Engineering Mechanical or electrical?

Hello, I want to do what a mechanical engineer does but with the electromagnetic force. What should I study mechanical or electrical engineering? An ideal job for me would be designing the magnetic system for motion in a maglev train, for example.

Engineering How to know if I’m more inclined towards Mechanical or Electrical Engineering?

I think I explain it better in this new post: https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/electrical-or-mechanical-engineering.976780/ I mean doing mechanics with electricity and magnetism, moving things with electricity, redesigning motors, things like that

Engineering How to know if I’m more inclined towards Mechanical or Electrical Engineering?

I mean designing something in 3 dimensions with electricity, like a levitating car or controlling plasma with a magnetic field.

Engineering How to know if I’m more inclined towards Mechanical or Electrical Engineering?

I’ve tried both. I like more the physics concepts of electrical engineering I think electricity is fascinating. Although I do not like that much electrical engineering jobs because I like to think spatially and i don’t think electricity should be treated so linearly as it is done today.

Physics Inventor and physicist, what to study?

What would implie physics in your opinion?

Physics Inventor and physicist, what to study?

Definitely, I understand inventing is much more than just building the products but considering costs, mass production and more. After listening I think I’m between 2 careers: - mechanical engineering or physics Mechanical engineering because I like the designing process and also like...

Physics Inventor and physicist, what to study?

I mean solving problems in the real world by building devices or mechanisms which involve physics. For example let’s say the problem is that to much energy from the vehicle is being consumed by friction. I invent a super conductor levitating car, that cools down temperature to be super...

Physics Inventor and physicist, what to study?

I want to be an inventor that focuses on physics, I have the chance to study university but I don’t know what is the best career. I know inventing is much more than a degree, but I wanted to know which degree or degrees would help me more?
