Why does anything exist than rather nothing ?

Here's my take on it. 'Nothing', in essence, marks the absence of something. Without something to absent, 'nothing' cannot even be defined. Therefore, if there is a definition of 'nothing', then something must exist. Just my take... no proofs or coercive plots given =)

Why does anything exist than rather nothing ?

I was just illustrating a construction from the way I see things. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't believe me. If you see any merit to it, then ponder away and take what you will. I'll be glad I could inspire further thought. And if you don't see merit to it, then at least it didn't take...

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

Plasma stability is not a problem in modern tokamaks. The poloidal and toroidal coils keeps the plasma stable for the most part and the correction coils take care of the remainder of instabilities. Energy input is not a problem either... we've been firing up tokamaks for decades and achieving...

Why does anything exist than rather nothing ?

In mathematics, we define abstract spaces all the time with elements that don't necessarily physically exist... for instance, has anyone ever seen an element of a function space? Do we have them in our desk drawer? I'm going to illustrate a couple constructions here. This is not to build a...

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

Iter Yes, ITER will be years coming. That is and always has been the primary problem with fusion energy... funding and motivation. The physics behind fusion from toroidally confined plasmas was ironed out quite a while ago. There is no doubt among fusion scientists that the tokamak can provide...

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

Well, I don't really see any good short term solutions. But ITER is a promising step.

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

Well, you might guess by my screenname the method of power generation that I support. I really believe a commercial reactor could have been running by now if people were aware enough of the progress of the technology, and if they cared enough about its benefits. It just doesn't get the funding...

What to Do with Free Time: Enjoy or Be Productive?

Well I'm still in college and I try to balance my vacation time. I might take a week off and do nothing intellectual, but not an entire Summer. I'd try to read something, study something, exercise and burn a few extra calories... I'll second seycyrus's suggestion.

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

I've read up on Peak Oil. But I never know how credible things like that are. I tend to believe it, but I couldn't prove it or say I was 100% sure of its credibility.

Crude Prices Skyrocket: $11 Rise in One Day

I'm really not sure how the price is determined either. But I do wish we had starting waning our oil usage a long time ago.

Just had my new Lenovo Thinkpad T61 laptop delivered to me

IBM's service is seriously fast. You'll very likely get that box when they told you. I use to have a T42 and I broke one of the key caps on the keyboard. I called them up and asked them how much for a new keycap. They just took down my address and the next day I had a brand new keyboard via...

What to Do with Free Time: Enjoy or Be Productive?

Learn Matlab Seriously, you can't go wrong learning Matlab in this market. Spend a little time writing a few programs and getting the feel for it. If you're going to read, I'd recommend reading books not having to do with science. It gives your brain balance. The old classics offer a nice...
